G'day all,
Having cppied the Catalina side and plan views of the Atlantic Scheme, here are the 2 pix of this Dark Gull Grey / Light Gull Grey over White, for all to vew.
Having got a 72 scale kit for his particular scheme, sadly it will be late April or early May before anything can be comenced on this build.

I Don't know if this question has been asked before. but are there any 1/48 scales kits availble. i know Revell Monogram used to have one. but is it still on the market? or are there any other manufacturers who have them. and where are they for sale.
Greetings Leon

Hi there Leon.
I think that the best chance to find the Revell/Monogram 1/48 PBY-5 and -5A Catalinas is on ebay.
All the best!
Edit: There's four for sale there now between $23 and $30....

Ooohhhh, look, I think I may have found the kitty!.......or maybe she found me? Either way, she was apparently looking around for something before she was found, hence these photos of our 'Cat' looking OUT....................
Here she is peeking around before prowling around.....
And now she's looking around for prey........
Our 'Cat' looks to her left to see a potential playmate.....
Anyway, I'm just glad to get a another glimpse of our previously mentioned 'Cat'......
Warn regards,
Tread.

Howdy Rob,
I would love to see those scans when you get a chance. When you say "pencil drawings", do you mean the 3-view colour plates?
Either way I would be interested in seeing a couple of those you listed, including the RNZAF Catalina serial NZ4011 of 6 Sqn, the GST/MP-7 Licience built PBY 4 of the Soviet Air Force, and the two RCAF birds......

G'day all,
Here are the side and plan view scans from the pencil drawings of the above mentioned Catalina aircraft, the book these came from is the Ian Baker Aviation History 'Colouring Book' #33 "Catalina Collection".
NOTE:
RAAF Foliage Green in the Model Master brand of Enamel or Acrylic paint is Euro Dark Green 1, as a Factory fresh coat this colour is similar to the Luftwaffe 'Black Green'.
A friend has a 48 scale PBY 5 Catalina done in the scheme of the RAAF Catalina subject #15, which had a fair amount of my input into it's completion, when I recieve the pix of this particular bird, I'll repost then here for all too see.
Gordon.
If you need any of these scans send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send the A4 originals by return e-mail.

Hi Rob! Thanks for sharing this mate. Would be a nice to do the No 7 & 8 Catalinas, a real challenge. Almost wish that there were color pictures of them. Have you got yourself a 1/48 Cat yet?

G'day Jan,
Sadly the drawings are as I scaned them [Black and White pencil outline types], the schemes you have chosen would look good on any scale 'Cat' I might attempt these schemes on a couple of the smaller 72 scale Academy kits, just for fun. As yet I have not got hold of a 48 scale 'Cat', but I am still searching and hopefully something will eventuate.

G'day,
THis 'Cat' is not mine, it is a 48 Revell/Monogram boxing PBY 5 in 48 scale, my input into this subject is the colours of the cammo and how to apply it, this is Aussie Decals for the RAAF subject but otherwise is biult OOB.
The pix:
This model subject is either the 3rd or 4th model built since returning to the hobby, about 2 years ago. Take into concideration that his application of the cammo is by masking templates.
