Hi Jan:

So to resume, I understand that we will buil Typhoon from the same Sqn., and this Sqn. is 175, right ? I will go with HH N and you with HH W or I missunderstood something ? It would be great to build a pair of Typhoons of the same Sqn.
There´s also Tigerbait who wants to build a Typhoon but don´t know of what Sqn.

Regards.
Carlos

Hi young Master Carlos. 175 squadron it is. I'm looking for any with the teardrop canopy to build.....
Wish that I could find out how far they went in letters on their aircrafts from HH*A to HH*?

Hi all,

Question. Where will we post our build progress images and such for this campaign?

It depends on how detailed you want to be during your build and how much you would share with the rest of us
If you are doing a blow by blow account of your build, which would be a good thing, then you would put up a new tread with your build. Then there would be a nice report of your build for others to enjoy without the official campaign tread being crowded and messy.
If you are only going to post a few pictures of the finished result when you are done, you can use this official campaign tread.

From what you write it seems like you will share your build progress with us. So I suggest you start a new tread on your build in the campaign section of the forum. You could call it: "1/48 Eduard Airacobra Mk. 1 for tank busting campaign" or something similar.

Just curious fellas. I'm about to order my 1/48 Hawker Typhoon from Hannant's and was wondering, is CMK's interior sets are any good?
Was gonna order a set at the same time if they're good.

Cheers everyone!

Jan,

Order from me, I'm cheaper!

The CMK kit is superb - its more expensive than your typical Aires cockpit set but you do get colour-etched parts for the instrument panel. And of course - Aires dont make a Typhoon cockpit........

@Phantom II aka show off :-) :-) Good choice. I will also be making the Hs 129 B-2, but in Eastern front markings. It will be very cool with different camouflage schemes and markings for this aircraft. Jolly Rodger is doing the late war B-3 version with the 75mm gun.
Do you have squadron/signals book on the Hs 129? It is pretty good with good information and colour profiles. I also have a polish book, but can really only use the pictures, colour profiles and the drawings. My polish is a little rusty

Hi Jesper!

I have wanted to build this aircraft for some time now!
I have a fondness of the weird, ugly and charismatic aircrafts, and the Hs-129 fits in all categories!

I already had the Hasgawa boxing when Revell reissued this kit, but with new decals.
You get two new options in the Revell box, one for the (Eastern Front) Hs-129 ace Ruffer and the other one was two desert camouflaged machine (the reason why I bougt the reissue!).

I have the "In Action" book, It´s very good and comprehensive as all books in this series.
I also have several volumes about different aircrafts where the 129 is described in detail.

Three builds, and we all choose different schemes and versions, very cool indeed!
Will be great to see your builds!

I´m off work tomorrow so I hope I can get some "Bench-time"!

We can start building now, right?

Cheers!

I also ordered some parts from Ultracast, these are the ones:
Exhausts:

Seats:

They will be arriving by mid February, so I´ll have to be patience and up to then work in my other projects not yet finished.
I believe this will be a fabulous Campaign

It has started already. You can start building if you want to. It is running till end June, but I will be flexible with the end deadline since the formal campaign is not on the site yet.

Cool!

The parts of my Hurricane are washed and dried, I'll start with cockpit (obviously). My build will be pretty much out-of-the box, but I was wondering if someone could tell me where to find some good pictures of the cockpit area I'm mainly interested in the seatbelts... I'm not going to buy any after market stuff, I was going to try to make the belts out of masking tape. (read the article on Hyperscale.com)

Hi Jesper!

Just a quick note to inform you that I will enter Dragon's new 1/32 scale Mustang. Since the kit comes with bombs and rockets I will build it with the full load!

It seems the campaign is starting very well...

That's why I asked: I can't find the campaign under the"active campaigns". Where do you sign up? (I complements the achtung jabo campaign at armorama )

Ive decided to join up for this campaign as i found a Tamiya 1/48 Thunderbolt P-47 D Bubbletop at work and it looked like it could do with new home. I was going to do it OOB however tomcat31 had some aftermarket decals and i saw a nose art i had to do as it was released by Legend Productions as part of their nose art series of figures and i have the built figure at home. It is a girl in a red bikini with a red scarf around her head holding a puppy under one arm. The only modification i need to make to do this nose art is to make a dorsal fin for the Thunderbolt. Hopefully this shouldnt be too hard to do. Hoping to make a start to the building work tomorrow.

The Campaign submit button on the aeroscale site currently doesn't work (staff_jim is apparently looking into it) so the campaign leaderts decided to start their campaigns and threads to get the ball rolling. As soon as the submitting works the campaigns will be "official" and you can sign up properly then.

@Camogirl and Jean-Luc: welcome on board. Nice to have you here. Great choices both pf you. I especially look forward to see that P-51 with the full loadout

@Spongya: I am participating in the Achtung JaBo campaign as well. I am just about to finish a GAZ truck with a ZSU 23/2. The two campaigns complement each other very well. Even though my subject in the achtung JaBo campaign is not WWII.
I hope the campaign functions at the sites will soon work so people can sign up properly.

Ju-88P-1 under way also. Separated the rudder and placed putty and plastic back into the voids all while watching (American) football playoffs.

I am a little surprised that no Sturmoviks are being built except for the possibilty of one. Seems like the P-47's and Typhoons are dominating at this point.

I was thinking we could advertise on the armorama page for some members to build "Flying Tanks" to boost the Stormovik numbers, but then the thought of them actually building tanks with wings scared me away from that idea. :-)
