Luciano thanks. And if you are looking for C-130s in 1/144 as mentioned Minicraft is your best bet. The old Revell I did was with Aeroclub metal engine cowls and props. I also had to fabricate the nose door as Revell had it 2 pieces which it never was.I am working on another Revell C-130 doing it as an all metal finish C-130B from the early 60s, then I have a Minicraft C-130B which I will convert to a C-130E with SEA cammo for the 70s. My older brother was a Herk maintainer at Forbes AFB in Kanasa from 70-74. Going to do one of "his" birds. Good luck and THINK Minicraft.---John

Let me also welcome you to our "Merry Band of Smurf Modelers" ! Nice USCG C-130, Believe me, I well know how much work it takes for the Revell kit. While the Minicraft kit may have a few problems, it is a decent starting place.

This is a 3D printed model by Dameya in Japan of the Heinkel 178 v2.
Modified with a piece of Brass tube in the nose to simulate the air intake. Scratch cockpit details and new vacform canopy.

Here is a recently finished repaint of the F-toys kit.
I used Humbrol acrylic paints to give a less garish rendition of the RLM 81 and 82 as well as underside 76 colours.
I also did a vacform replacement canopy as the F-toys one has the clear locating lugs that are quite visible.

Nice job, Pete. Keep'em coming.

And just as a heads up for folks who may not know, Draw Decals just released a decal for the C-17A Globemaster III. It is the 99th anniversary colors for 99 Squadron , RAF. It is a beautiful Puma stalking down the tail - they have it in 1/144 and 1/72 !

After a very long delay I have done some more work to my Beaufort.

This is one of my latest purchases I got from the Japanese site Dameya using the FromJapan proxy.
It is a small diorama of the launch deck and platform on the Japanese submarines that carried the Glen recon floatplane.
It is a combination of thick cardboard that has been laser cut and (probably) 'Extreme detail' 3D printed parts.
This is what it is supposed to look like:

And here the main parts are assembled after about 20 minutes work:


This has to be one of the BEST engineered models I have ever built!!
The fit of the parts, especially the card to resin pieces, is like fitting Lego blocks together. There are tiny slots in the 3D printed part that the cardboard edges slide into as well as two locating holes at each end for lugs on the resin piece to go into. It all lines up perfectly and almost 'snaps' into place. I did one trial fit and as it fitted so well put on some CA and then put the pieces back together again and Voilà.

I didn't paint the White stripes as they were a late war marking for identification.


And weathered a little with a 'Glen' (So-7", 2nd Sensui Sentai, operating from B-class Submarine I-7, December 1941.):

This is the F-4J from Whirlybirds Models. It's mostly resin with white metal u/c parts, vac canopy and a few PE bits too. The decal sheet is excellent with tons of (tiny) stenciling.

Great to see someone else posting The Migrant, and what a lovely model it is! How long did it take to complete?

Peter! Innovative subjects! I really like that FW-190TL, what a concept... Regarding your He-162 further up the thread, I saw that Brengun has issued a conventional injected kit of it. Saw one built at Telford (probably from one of those Czech or Hungarian guys who have a day job as watchmakers, life ain't fair ) and it looks like a great kit. I myself picked up a combo kit from 4+ on a Finnish theme: a Gladiator and a Buffalo in 144 scale.

The_Migrant! That's an amazing Phantom! OK, I admit, by just putting "Zoot" on the fin you've got a lot of bonus points for starters but even without him it would be great ! Love that photo with the Tamiya tin...

I couldn't see anything in the thread specifying it was 1/144 military aircraft only, so here's an airliner; the old Airfix Vickers Vanguard. Rescribed, windows replaced with clear resin and a rudimentary floor/bulkheads installed so I could leave the doors open.

Oh! nice boarding ladders and open doors! also, nice polished metal and love for the BEA red wings.

I want to do such things when in the future my models don't have to be stored in bubble wrap inside boxes inside closet shelves. maybe next year.

As far as I know, this is Aeroscale, so yes, it is aircraft - but it has never been decreed that this is Military only. I see no reason for that. We all love the small scale models, and we've even got enough modelers interested that most shows, (in the USA anyway - have a separate 1/144 scale class ! )

There has been some tremendous work here lately, and all are to be congratulated. The rest of us just need to get busy and produce a few of our own. Great Work, Guys !
