Hi.
Not the usual model delivery but something a bit different. I saw this on ebay and just for fun I put a bid on it, and won. It is 101 years old, printed in 1909 in London, it is in great condition and cost me a massive $10.50, I think I had a real win here.

sorry for the confusion. What is the kit like? Bet it is kind of a copy of the Revell kit .. but how crude is it...

Hi again
I'm still waiting for a parcel that's a week overdue, but in the meantime I treated myself to this cute little D.H. Moth from Model Hobbies:
All the best
Rowan
This one looks interesting. I wonder if this model can be adapted to the Moth used before war in Poland or at least during ww2 in the polish squadron in Britain. I have to check my references.

Steffen, no problem.
The Ace kit is exactly the same, sprue for sprue, as the Revell kit, which both do say Made in Korea. The Ace offering is just a darker gray coloring. Hopefully, the decals work better than Revell's!

This little gem(?) cost me the princely sum of $2.49, including shipping. Should be my entry for the VAC ATTACK campaign.

There is a triple build of Moths on Britmodeller, for those interested in this kit.

OK not the postie but a weekend at a model show, where I had the pleasure of talking with Trevor Snowdon of Airfix and seeing the final test shots of a couple of very soon to be released aircraft from them
Plus two others in 1/48 but they are already on the bench for secret projects.

Got a nice Sample delivery today:
I am a bit surprized by the size of the EA-6B fuselage ... what a monster, which makes teh comparison picture with the Global Hawk even more impressive ...
some more test shots on the way

Well although I really wanted this one and asked for it, I want to mention that a sample does NOT come for free .... just ask Rowan.
Nowadays I often rather trade some time spared for some bucks spent (e.g. Eduard masks) - despite my unemployment and that I have a slim budget (that I fully spend on modelling stuff) plus some more time than others with a full time job. Also you must imagine that I do get samples that I do not want and still have to write a fair review (more or less)...
all the best

Just need to find some aftermarket for the P-40 so any Suggestions would be a great help.

i've got these bits over the last few weeks,
a couple of second hand books, the polikarpov I-16 for my vac attack group build next year(thought i'd start with a small easy one as this will be my first vac build),1/48 airfix seafire :-) and some vector resin engines and cockpit.
time to get back to the bench to finish my summer 1940 group build....only 6 days to go!...

Hi there
Sadly, my attempt at a bit of retail therapy that I mentioned a week or two ago seems to have ended in failure - the package appears to have got lost in the post.
Model Hobbies have been really good about it, and refunded the cost of one item that is no longer in stock without hesitation (TwoBobs T-2C Buckeye) and sent a replacement for the other:
The conversion looks very neat indeed, and will make for an interesting project.
All the best
Rowan

Hi Rowan,
Nice conversion indeed...
Here is what I got from my visit at the T2M headquarters this week, amongst other stuff...
The AB 43 is also from T2M. The Spitfire and the Caravan came in yesterday...
And today I have received decals from Hannants...
The SkyModels decals are for my current project and I have added some B-17G and P-61 decals into my order for good measure.
Jean-Luc

Great haul everyone!!!!
no I am not jealous! As written recently ... samples come with a price tag and I am about to write some of the reviews over the weekend (already took some pix yesterday as the weather permitted it) ... still some things on order that are a little late. Hope the postie will have some goodies for me today....
