Thanks folks. It probably was the first Hurricane to hit indiana. At least, with that ferocity.

I'm in Ohio, I actually think it was classified as a tropical depression by the time it got to indiana and ohio. However they classified the occasional gusts as hurricane intensity approaching 60-85 mph. This whole region is a mess but nothing compared to texas and louisiana. My heart goes out to those who lost everything, hard to watch. OK, no more weather posts from me-I was way off topic-sorry.

It seems as though the submission was lost in the mail. But fear not, I kept a copy and duly submitted it again. Butcherbirds will not be denied.

Carl,
Nope, not lost just waiting for enough people to sign up, to gain approval. Remember it takes 10. You haven't even enlisted yet. LOL

Hi Chuck
well, then there is something strange with the campaign site. I just looked the other day and I could not see it! .. Hmm, I still cannot .. so the problem is 60cm in front of the screen. For the future: Where do I have to look?
Thanks for the link: I am in ... first
cheers

for a ribbon I would suggest to take a silhouette (like on the Tamiya decal sheets) ... IMO it would look best in flight. Black on white bg ?
cheers

It is considered the Campaign Leaders responsibility to post a link to a Proposed Campaign (I'll post one if contacted by the Campaign Leader), as they do indeed not show up until Approved. Part of the Approval is that there are 10 enlistees, so the Campaign Leader is also responsible for doing the recruiting for their idea.
It has been proposed in the past, to make the Campaigns awaiting Approval visible to all, but that has not happened to date.

I was always under the impression that threads like these were the purpose of getting the required 10 interested, then the link to the campaign would be published by the staff for people to enlist officially (this was the case with the Tomcat campaign I ran).Quoted Textwell, then there is something strange with the campaign site. But it would seem this has changed and not been communicated very well. It does seem odd that in order to get enough interest people have to enlist by going somewhere on the site, that they don't know about.
Just my 2p. oh and I've enlisted
Cheers

Yeah, it is very embarassing. I just enlisted, and was the 19th to do so. Sorry I was behind the power curve on this one, but I have been in bed with the flu for the last week.

Carl,
Glad you didn't sustain much local damage. We received lots of wind and rain here in southwestern Illinois as well. I've gotten an Eduard kit for the campaign. Lots of decal choices, but I suspect the checkered nose configuration will win out.

Hi. I googled Assi Hahn the other day, since it's his bird I'm building for this campaign. Or maybe I should say was that bird. I also saw another one, and if I cut the inner chevron from the markings I'll end up with Arnim Fabers mount, which was the first 190 the british captured.
Hmm...looks like I'll have to build two...unless someone is interested in relieving me of the british one. Hands up, who's willing It was dubbed MP 499, by the way.
Tony.

Howdy Y'all,
I would like to build a Fw 190 A8, I am going to use the Tamiay 1/48 A8/A8R2 kit. Got my resin and waiting for some decals. This will be the first German aircraft I've built since I was a teenager.
I'm ready for some fun!

Hi guys,
I'll be flying this one.
This is the Fw 190A-8 in 1/48 by Eduard. Probably will do the #1 version with the blue fuselage band flown by Hans Dortenmann 2/JG 54 in France, 1944. This will be my first kit by Eduard, first attempt at using PE, and first attempt at the awsome looking German mottled camo. Soooo.........I'll probably be asking lots of dumb questions and begging for help along the way.

Funny, maybe an hour ago I ordered this one for 40% discount to get the feel for aircraft again:
Hasegawa 1:72 Focke Wulf Fw190D-9 'Rudel'
And then I read about this campaign here so nr 31 joined up!
It will be my first plane in 17 years or so, hope I still have what it takes...

One month to go, and I've decided to drag a friend in here. I'm building Arnim Fabers 190 that he mislanded in UK.
And I'm slowly but surely convinging by buddy to make the same craft after RAF repainted it.
The RAF-version here doesn't really look right. The square seems to represent en overpainted balkenkreuz, but that should only have been the case if the plane had still been in luftwaffe-camo. I guess we have to rely on the few photos we've found, paint it in Thyphoon-like green-grey, and leave some german grey around the cocks head.
If anyone knows more about this, just throw it out here and I'll be grateful.

Hermon:
For what its worth, I love the Eduard kit. It is a bit complex, but if you dry fit everything a couple of times before sticking it with glue, it goes together great.
