Hi Jesper,
Had a change of mind regarding the Ta-152. A visit to my LHS today and I picked up this little beauty (I couldn't leave empty-handed, could I )
Once my Panther Ausf. A gets weathered this weekend it's Butcher bird time!
Mike.

Sorry folks, I have been really sick. I haven't even turned on the computer for about a week. I'm still a little off, and probably wont move into the workroom for a few days.
Jesper, Thanks for keeping up with this while I was AWOL.
Neil, Go ahead and do the build, for all the reasons Jesper already stated.
Mike, if you want to do that Focke-Wulf Ta-152H, I would be inclined to allow it.
There is already a ribbon posted. But I would be willing to switch it out if there is a consensus.

I just signed up for this one. It's a really great idea for a campaign and the ribbon looks nice to. I still have some other stuff to get out of the way before I begin building so I'll join in later on during the campaign. I'm thinking about building an A-5 in 32nd scale.
Cheers!

I hope to build this A-4..
Fw 190A-4 Flown by Siegfried Schnell
Both Siegfried Schnell and his Fw 190A-4 were somewhat unusual. The plane because of its oddly looking markings and its pilot because of his oddly finished career.
"Wumm" Schnell was a highly successful ace of JG 2, and a long-time commander of 9/JG 2. He flew 500 combat missions and scored 90 victories over the Channel front in 1940-1943 period. Three of the victories were scored against US heavy bombers. But in February 1944 he was posted to JG 54 fighting against Soviets, and was immediately killed by Soviet fighters having added only three kills to his credit! It was really unpleasant surprise to Jagdwaffe that such crack veteran ace fell under Soviet guns so quickly.
During his career Schnell flew Bf 109s, and scored ca. 60 kills with them, but in 1942 his Staffel switched to Fw 190s, and since then Schnell had been scoring with Würgers.
I will be using the Hasegawa A-4 kit for my build. My main concern with this build is the painting but I am crossing my fingers. If anyone knows of any major errors with the hasegawa kit would you please let me know. Thanks in advance and wish me luck.
Should we post progress in this thread or start a our own WIP page?

Hi,
Thanks Carl, but I'll stick with my "Dora" now. Hope you're feeling better
The Academy kit is quite nice. Here are some picks:

Hi Mike
Do you fancy writing a Review of the Academy Ta-152 as you go? As you've already got the sprue-shots, it'd be a great addition to the database.
All the best

Hi Focke-Wulf freaks
I first have to finish this old project: Eduard Fw 190 A-8 construction (have a look at the starting date ... )
And then there are so many options in my stash (I now have about 4/5 of my models here). But I will probably do these two :
in the markings of Egon Mayer (in the box)
Markings OOB with Zoom set
but we will see what I actually manage to build as I have a lot of projects going on .....
all the best

I've also decided upon a Hasegawa A-4 for this campaign. Always wanted to do an aircraft of Hannes Trautloft, so that's what it will be. Even though one of the options in the box is the aircraft i'm doing, i'll actually be using an aftermarket deal set. I know it sounds a bit odd to do an in-box option using aftermarket decals...but that's me i suppose.

Hi Rowan,
I'd love to write a kit review
However this is the Academy Fw-190 D-9 "Dora" kit (1/72). I had initially planned to to a Ta-152, but this kit caught my eye at the LHS. If it's still worhty of a review I'll gladly do it.
Mike.

Hi again Mike
Sorry, I was still bleary-eyed and not paying attention! The Academy Dora 9 would be equally good - neither have been covered yet.

Hi there
I've made a fair start on Tamiya's up-dated Fw 190F, so I'll enter that. All being well, I'll still do the Antares Models V-19 Special too...
Two builds from me?! That'd shock everyone if I manage it - it's one more than my total for the whole of last year!

I've changed my mind too
I'm now going to build a Hasegawa 1/48 A6 with the Owl R11 conversion kit and decals to make this butcher bird:
Now, just got to finish a 1/48 b-17 and I'll be straight onto her!!

Carl, good to have you back. I hope it was/is nothing seriously.
Good to see so many plans for this campaign. I plan to enter at least one Wurger.
To avoid builders fatigue I have choosen to go for a really simple build for my first build: the Tamiya A-3. It will be a nice change from the pimp'ed up SU-7BKL I am building for the Speed campaign.
I started my A-3 last evening and it practically flew together. All the subassemblies were finished in a little more than one hour.
Pictures to follow soon.

Hi Rowan,
I didn't knew you've finished two models last year! Wasn't it in 2007?

Hi Jean-Luc
Did I actually build two in 2007?! That must have been a good year for me then!
As I say, I only managed one last year (I started loads, but finished....), so to build two for one campaign would be little short of a miracle!

Hi again
Well, it looks like I'll really have to conjure up that miracle! - HLJ have kindly confirmed that Hasegawa's new Sturmbock is on the way. Tackling 3 x '190s would be being wildly overoptimistic, so this could well be at the expense of the V-19 Special.

Hi Guys
With your kind permission, I would like to join this GB. Hopefully, by getting in at the early stages, I can avoid the fate I suffered in my last campaign attempt, which I failed to finish before the deadline (Rumble in the East Asian Sky). I tend to be a pretty slow builder, but I can surely make it by July!
I have several 190s in the stash, and after mulling it over chose this one as my entry:
This kit has two marking options, both of which feature snazzy checkered cowls. It looks to be pretty much the same parts as the A5 except for a different lower wing.
I'll be looking forward to following everyone's progress--just don't make me look too bad in comparison.
Out for now . . .

Ok I've made a start on the 190V-18, cut and cleaned the fuselage and cleaned up the cockpit parts only to find the RLM 66 paint has dried up. Checked some others and also found the RLM 02 has dried, oh well looks like I need to get some new paint, so until I do my build is stalled.
Thats what happens when you don't build German for a year I supose.

I have started on my 1/48 Tamiya FW 190 A-3. A great little kit that builds itself if you shake the box
I have decided to build the JG2 bird with the eagles head on each side of the fuselage. Actually I think the machines only had the eagles head on one side of the fuselage, but I am not certain.
Below is a couple of hours work. Next is the painting of the cockpit before the wings and fuselage can be joined.
