Glad you like it Terri. Good tip about powder methods, so I'm eager to attain your lessons.
Next Messerschmitt will probably be a 109 D for "first shots", so I have a few months to dig into the references. And by the way, I don't really understand my fling for 109's myself, so please don't ask about it .

I've got going at last but have had to change my build again, no Triplane as I have a personal project that I have to get done.
So my replacement is an Academy B-24J with Matador replacement white metal cockpit.
So here it was this morning
And tonight after a day of clean up and filler

Cool choice Luciano. I wonder if anyone will beat your "percentage of stripes"-level?

JP , I love it so far . Those are really cool stripes !!! The red and blue go very well together .
Stripes can be hard to mask at times depending on how they lay . yours turned out prefect , nice and uniform . The decals turned out well to .
I did pick up Rodens 72 scale kit , but you got me wanting to do this in 48 scale now

Thank you Terri and Tony, and with a couple of days off shift heres what I've got done.
Now I'm going to check the other two boxings of this kit in the stash as I've just noticed that all the decal strips are out of register Well it is Academy

Sorry guys, work is keeping me way busy these days so I'm falling behind on my campaign obligations. Here is my progress so far on my F-16 for this campaign. The first pic is the decal sheet and what this project will hopefully look like when complete. Second pic is where I'm at now. This is the Academy kit in 1/48 and so far it's been pretty straight forward. The decals are Eagle Strike and will really be a challenge. Thanks for lookin'.

More inspiring work, very nice guys and girls.
Now for me, struggling with the start of rigging the SE5a I needed to do some less challenging stuff for a while.
After a Rummage in the loft I pulled out the Tamiya 1:48th P47D bubbletop. kit No 90
Building it pretty OOB it just falls together in true Tamiya style.
Pics soon

Taking a break from the Strutter on the Nightfighter campaign and need a quick build Saw this aircraft in a mag and thought Ive got one of those in the stash.
Kit is Airfix 1/72 and build is OOB. Cockpit detail non-existant but fits together surprisingly well with little cleaning or filling. Pics tomorrow with luck. Stripy enough Terri?

Good news, after looking through the other two B-24's in the stash I found that the decals in one are almost bang on in register nothing that a little trimming wont sort out
Only issue I have is matching the green to paint the tail surfaces as these don't come as decals
So decalling has started but will take all week as I'm back on night shift so only 1/2 hour to spare each day.

A little behind I'm aren't I !!!
Luciano, glad that the decals you where searching for have been found . Sucks having to work the night shift though , I feel for you ! The green should be easy to match up . For colour matches have a peek at impsstockholms web site . They have an excellent cross ref's for colours .
Hermon , the F-16 is going to look so cool with those tiger stripes !
Keith , no worries mate . We have all been there before and I know it's something on which will be rebeated for me . If you feel you need the rest and do a simpler project it's all good !
Andrew , that is more then enough stripes ! kinda neet looking
Jan , you still have to get the kit(s) are you planning on doing two builds for this one ?
There is another campaign .....The Great Checker Board Campaign as well as another campaign just for the P51 Mustang so you might have to get three in total
As for me I have started with doing the wood grain for the cockpit parts , but do to having a new battery leak in side my camera ( wasn't very happy about that ) it's at the repair shop and will be ready in a week . I was all set to start a photo shoot for a feature and for up date pic's when the bottom of the camera was wet giving my fingers a neat tingling feeling ...........

Hi Terri
Well, I am tempted .... I have the Canberra which shall be a German all orange B.2 with the replacement wing from a British Target Tug ... but that would be a too complex model. But I have a soft spot for the new Eduard Fokker D.V WE with Osterkamp's markings. i also have the Flashback kit, but that is much too difficult for my skills.
Again no pix of this machine, but I am going to risk it. Originally i wanted Sachsenbergs checkered mount, but the pic I know is very bad and dark and you cant se much of the a/c so I rather do his D.VII which I have decals for.
The problem is the time frame. While I am progressing pretty good with my projects recently (I know I have some models lying near the work bench that only need a week or so, but anyway). The kit appears next month on the Czech market .. which means August in Germany and .. well until I have it it wil probablyl be the beginning of September .. so is it too early to ask for an extension before I even subscribed
cheers
Steffen

Eduards Fokker D.VIII is a great kit . I have the orange boxing as well as the one when they frist release it in 94 . I also the Battle Axe kit which I have nothing good to say about it . I just leave at that of fear of Jean-luc . Koster's vac kit is nice for it includes a jig for mounting the top wing with the struts , some thing I wish Eduard would do more of in there kit's .
The Eduard kit should be easy for you , not to complicated . I will get the weekend kit when it comes out but that won't hit the LHS here until late fall may be sooner .
Would you be interested in parting with the Flashback kit ? Been hunting for that one now for a very long time . Send a PM in regards to this .
As for adding more time , I just might do that if people ask reaaaaaly nice and all .
I know what you mean on the work load .............With the two project's on the go and a few articles I'm working on , with two build reviews coming up and as Vance has kindly put it ( Campaign hog ) my plate is getting pretty full , then there is the campaigns I signed for !!!!
So no worries on that

Hi Terri
Stupid me .. of course E.V/D.VIII .... mixed that.
i just enlisted and hope that I can get the model kit pretty soon, so that I can make it in time .. but probably I will have to ask for an extension anyway. Luckily not much in terms of rigging, but attaching the wing can be a problem. The new Mirage kit has some nice help stuff included but 50 Euro is too much for me (I can't even do an ace with it )
cheers
Steffen
P.S. PM sent

Got the top wing on the se5a, using the jig is a great help.
It's the first time I've used it and it was a little awkward at first but
I think it will become a useful tool and not just for biplanes.
Holes drilled for rigging and a little painting of the pilot/filler
Found a great guide (in japanese for 1/72 and brush paint techniques)
Armour mostly, but much still applies.
http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/minisuka/endex.html
I'll start the rigging next and paint the u/c. Nice to get a bit
of time back modelling.
PS Those tiger stripes are going to look very striking and in belgian markings
a very nicely balanced scheme.

There you go Terri, flying wires added. These should be flat cross section and doubled up.
On a better kit I would spend more time with it. Perhaps I'll try a do a checkerboard se5a with the roden
kit.
As it is my improvements are restricted to the exhaust pipes and the thickness of the struts.
I realy should have sanded off all the "detail" as the shape is quite good. But I'm not masking
all that again The vents on the underside I'll scribe in later prob should have done it already
but the jig is great for holding it steady so i'll likely get away with that

Awesome JP , now that is stripie !
How did you find the rigging ? I have been working on Eduards Nieuport 17 in 72 scale for almost a year now . It sit's in it's box in the stash for finally assembly ( avoiding the rigging I am ! )

As I always work in 1/72 I don't know any better. Ignorance is bliss.
Funny I'm keeping it in my work box next to a 1/48 D.520 it really
is tiny in comparison.
Used the drill through the wing and apply superglue method.
Nothing fancy like you guys with your tubing and pe for turnbuckles
I'm not sure if I like the underside of the wing being striped.
also I'll never use the "trench" style of struts again, looks nasty and is awkward to put right
but thought I'd give it a shot.
In future I'll just fill up the trench and use contrail strut material.
I'm tempted to remove the wing and start again but I'd rather just
get it finished as I've got my plate full with other builds and nicer kits.
On the plus side it is a nice scheme and I learned a bit about masking.
so mistakes made here won't be made again.

Lysander now in build and better than I thought, could be a good kit for super detailing
Tomorrow, start masking stripes
