Well guys another idea has hit me for another campaign in the future .
Checkers is the theme for this one . ( Have lots in my collection ) You can build any aircraft from WW1 all the way up to modern stuff . You can build the actual markings or make up your own if you where the ( person sitting in the cockpit ) .
Time for this one to start will be late fall some where around November of this year depending on whether I'm still here in Canada . If some one would like to be the wing man for this let me know .
So what do you guy's say , up for the challenge ?

Well that makes four of us ! I know which kit I will be doing for this one . Eduards kit of the Bristol ( crocodile ) Now if I can just find small enough chess pieces can play a game or to on it !
i just notice the start time on this is about the same time of the Camel vrs Fokker campaign
So I will move the date up to the winter months ( December )

When I saw checkerboard, my first thought was the Crocodile in my closet. As I went through the posts, I saw Terri had that one. Plan B was a FW 190, but Thomas got that one. Plan C is... ummm, uhhhh, I'll have to get back to you later...

checkerboard?!
Hmmmm, I've done such stuff for other types of modeling, but for a quarter scale aircraft I have to say that I'm a little intimidated.
... of course that Eduard Fw190 A-6 in the closet would be a perfect candidate......

I am in.
I have always wanted to do one of the P-40s from Italy with the black and yellow checkered tail. This is a good excuse although I do not have the kit or the decals, but I am sure Hannants or Moduni can help out with that
Back up is a Fw 190 - I have a ton of those in my stash

Might join in at a later date if time permits and I finish some other projects in the pipeline (1/1 flooring and kitchen remodel). So to help entice those who sign up here are a couple that I did for the guys that flew 'em.
The P-51 was flown by Col. EE Bradley and the P-47 was flown by Col. Paul Latiolais. The Mustang checkerboard decals were from an Aeromaster sheet, the "41" was painted and the "Flying Foxhole" was a homemade decal. The Thunderbolt cowl was painted with the help of Tamiya tape. Just like the real thing the checkerboard is not square and perfect.
Sadly, both men have past on but they did love the memories of their birds.
More photos in the gallery.
