Progress Update:
Still working on the Cockpit PE......i have almost no hair left on my head

Will be out of town for 3 days, hopefully can finish the cockpit by the weekend.

And a slight change of plans, now i will be building it as a E-7 of I./JG27. Hopefully all it needs is the sand filter on the supercharger intake to make it a E-7/Trop.

Will be building the Red 8

Thanks for the comments, Terri. It was a pleasure to participate despite the decal problems.

Thanks for a well run campaign

Here is a quick update on a build that is taking me an eternity to finish ..can't seem to be able to make the time to hit the work bench so hopefully I'll be able to finish in the allotted time. I've started the painting phase after added the primer and preshade. The base will consist of RLM 66 and the camouflage will be RLM 02 and RLM 71 (for both the splinter camo and the mottle). The wing tips will receive a coat of Tamiya yellow.

I'll now apply the same technique to the left wing and the tail wings plus the upper portion of the fuselage. The scheme that I'm shooting for is Lt. Josef Eberie's "Yellow 13" that was flown during the Battle of Britain.

Thanks for watching,

Hermann.

I've managed to finish with the splinter camouflage and will then add the mottle. Below are a few pix of the progress so far:

@ J-P, excellent finished build mate, and a really eye-catching scheme.

I did a bit more on my Hasegawa 1/48 109E-4 today, but not too much to show for it. It's a nice kit though.

I wanted to see how this would start before I enlisted. Mainly because of some horror stories I heard from ICM kits.

The engine went together ok.

I have added some Eduard PE because of the low detail in the cockpit.

This is where I'm up to.

Just the canopy to paint and then onto the markings and some weathering.

Thanks

Martin

JP, nice Legion condor ME 109. A good entry into the campaign to span the entire life span of the 109.

Hermann, great weathering and shading as already pointed out by Terri.

Terri, do we have a campaign gallery for finished subjects? I cannot seem to find it under the 2009 or 2010 campaigns.

Hi guys. This is your stand-in temporary part-time substitute apprentice campaign leader speaking. I am certainly no expert on 109's, but I do know a great build when I see it, so I will do my best to find answers (most likly by asking you guys). I will be posting as often as possible to keep the momentum that Terri has created here. This is a great campaign through her efforts, as well as the efforts of those building here, so let's keep the ball rolling until she returns.

In the words of one of our members here, BUILD ON !!

Cheers, D

Slight change of plans as I had to change my paint scheme from "Yellow 13" to "Yellow 10". I had a difficult time replicating the vertical lines so I settled for regular mottle. Below is picture of Ofw. Fritz Beeck's plane that I'm trying to replicate and a WIP of the mottle paint work:

Again comments and critiques are always welcomed! Thanks for watching,

Hermann

Very nice to help Terri out, Damian.

I will put you on the line from the start I have been trying to find the gallery for this campaign. I cannot seem to find it.

Do we have a campaign gallery for finished subjects? I cannot seem to find it under the 2009 or 2010 campaigns.

Always happy to help out here Jesper. Teeri said that she had requested a gallery, so I will fire a few pesky PM's at the heirarchy to get it going now !!

A very cool looking 109. Good work on the mottle, and I like your subject choice. Carry on!

Thanks Guy for those kind words!
I did manage to tweak with the mottle finish a bit, added the yellow flare to the tail rudder and the red markings to the wings.

Thanks for watching,

Hermann.

Super job on the camo Hermann, looking really nice.

WRT the Campaign Gallery, I have discussed with Chuck (CRS), he has tried to create a gallery but there are some technical difficulties at present. I'm sure we will be notified in due course.

Nice job Jaypee. I've always thought the SCW 109's were a drab-looking lot, but your model makes it look quite interesting. Good work bringing life to a monochrome finish.

Hermann- Your paintwork is looking fantastic thus far. Can;t wait to see the end!

It was raining this morning so I decided to finish my 109 Trop.

This was my first ICM build and wasn't as bad as I was led to believe. The only real grumble was that the decals are terrible and they took a one way trip to the rubbish bin.

Thanks

Martin
