Alrighty then, I'll be building Hobbyboss' Mig17F in the markings of "Red 3020". The pilot was Le Hai who had 6 kills in the Vietnam war. I've got the kit, a Neomega cockpit, some resin wheels, Condor decals, and most important....a pic! Off I go.

Nice one Ayhan!
Are you going to add the yellow prop tips?
Dont forget that in order to qualify for a ribbon you need to upload a photo ( or photos) of the build, along with a photo of the actual aircraft, in the ACES HIGH 2 CAMPAIGN GALLERY
Really starting to suffer withdrawl symptoms now, I hope I can get back to the bench soon.

Paint is on. I'll spray some Future on it tomorrow and then start the decals.

Hiya Hermon, super paint job there. Did you paint a pale base coat ond overspray with Olive Drab, or is the faded shade over the OD??
Either way, I love it mate, and it looks like you are well on the way to re-stocking that shelf !!

Cheers, D

Thanks D. I painted the whole plane grey and then did the olive coat last. Didn't get as much splatter through the airbrush as I'd thought I would.

I am planning on building Karel Kettelwascher's Hurricane JX-E 'Night Reaper', and I have the Techmod 1/72 decals (which has the nose-art in the wrong colours), and also lacks kill markings.

Does anyone have any spare tiny white swastika transfers? The first row has 9, and covers a length of 15mm on the model, the second row has 2, 11 in total at that point (just after downing three He 111 in one night).

The only photo of this aircraft I have found is this one:

Anyone have any others?

What happens if all you can find is artwork, a pic of the pilot sitting in the plane and documentation of the plane but NO FULL picture of said aircraft?

Hi Todd.
A photo of the pilot sitting in his plane, or standing by it, is fine. Nowhere does it state it has to be a "full" photo of the aircraft.
For example,if you wanted to build a model of James Howards P-51 Ding Hao! Then this photo qualifies

The reason I chose to include posting a photo of the actual aircraft as well as the finished model is to encourage the modeller to do a little bit of research into the history of the subjects we model. And most importantly, to have fun doing it!
It also makes for a very interesting photo gallery when the campaign finishes.
All the best

Well here she is ... I had a lot of fun with this Campaign. I very much enjoyed building this kit even though it was a Special Hobby kit... LOL

Awesome builds guys and its particularly nice to see a Seafire represented.
Thanks for putting the photos in the gallery everbody. Its starting to look very good even at this early stage of the campaign!
Now my restoration of the "mancave" is 99% complete I'm back at the bench and I've been able to get some work done on my entry.
A couple of photos of the cockpit before I close up the fusalage.

Thanks Damian.
The green is a mix of Tamiya Flat Yellow (2 parts) and Flat Green (1 part). This is the mix recommended in the instructions.
They also call for this colour in the wheel wells.
Apparently, the wheel well colour on P-51's is a whole can of worms. I checked all the references I had to hand and also had a look around the various threads/flame wars on the web and decided on a metal colour for the actual well with the main spar remaining in the yellow zinc cromate colour.
Is it correct?, I don't know for sure, but it makes for an interesting contrast.
Next job is to finish cleaning up the seams.

I finally got mine started last night. Gotta love how fast a Hasegawa 109 goes together. I got all parts clipped free and cleaned up, fuselage interior walls painted, cockpit base coated, and last but not least, the fuselag and wings assembled with the elevators installed. Leaving town for a few days so it will have to wait on my return. Thanks for looking. "Q"

The only pic I can find of my particular plane is a restored bird. Will that do? Thanks, "Q"

Some progress The Neomega cockpit is done and the fuselage assembled. The cockpit was a nice fit but the fuselage, being sectioned in quarters, took a bit of work to minimize filling. It's still better than working with the old Smer kit though. Just added the wings and will be shooting a bit of primer to see where more filler is needed.
