I've been busy over the weekend.

First some undercoat and some preshading.

Then the RLM 76 on the undeside.

Then the rest of the painting.

The nose is not glued on yet only pushed on for painting.

The Xtracrylix paints go on realy well and dry quickly with a semi-gloss finish.

A couple of coats of klear have also been applied.
The next step the decals.

Primed and base layers going on. Side fuse and the red underside is done. The flash totally killed the side fuse colour, makes it look the same as the primer in the pic.

All finished.
I managed to finish last night, this is my Eduard Weekend edition FW 190-D 1/48.Painted in the markings of Oblt. Hans Dortenmann ,JG 26 1945.Dortenmann flew this aircraft from September 1944 to the end of the hostilities and personally destroyed her to avoid her capture by the allies.

I used Xtracrylix paints for all of the main painting on this build and I am happy with their look and performance.
I ended with a light oil wash before a flatt coat to finish.

Another great campaign.

Beautiful build Martin. The camo looks outstanding, I really like the feathered edges.

Martin, that's some fine airbrushing you did there! I didn't succeed that well on my "Dora" but for me it's okay. Your build looks great. Congrats on that!
Just took photos of my dual combo and will show them tomorrow.

Happy modelling!

Thanks.

I am afraid not at the moment. No more 190's in the stash. On to something else, maybe time to prepare for another campaign.

Martin.

Aaron, why don't you glue the canopy to the fuselage with some drops of furniture glue and spray the camo then also over it? That would make it a lot easier. And you can again open the canopy when your build is finished.

Anyway, here are some process photos of my dual combo. First the D-9. The mottling is not as good as on Martin's build but for me it's okay. After the desaster with Testors all is painted with Gunze now, fuselage band is Revell. One of the fragile wing guns broke off but I saved it.

My "Schlachtflieger" didn't give me any troubles, just a heavy paint job with the white lines. That took me 2 days. All is painted with Agama colours, white lines are sprayed with Gunze, fuselage band and armour ring is again Revell ....

I'm quite happy with the way the white camo lines came out Next step is the landing gear. Stay tuned .....

Hi Guys
I thought it high time to get my entry started! I'll be doing the Airfix/MPC 1/24th scale Fw190A6. I've got the Aeroscale cockpit placards and instrument decals. I've also got Mal from Mal's masks to create masks of the decals so I can paint the national insignia markings etc, however Mal wont have them done till March so I've included the decals that came with the kit so you can get an idea of the markings. The 7.92mm barrels I ordered were 1/32nd scale so I've ordered another set this time in the correct scale! Here's a pic of it all so far.

Here's wishing you all luck with your respective builds and successful completion of them all.
Cheers
Chris

Hi everyone, some great builds going on here.
I got my Butcher Bird kit from Scalehobbyist

This is the Fw-190A-8 in 1/48 scale from Eduard. The decals are an old AeroMaster Special Edition set (sp-4802) for JG54 "Green Hearts"

The one I am doing is the lower A-8 in camo. This one flew in Germany in 1944 with III Gruppen, 8 Staffel Jagdegruppe 54 "Grunherz". The blue theater band on the fuselage indicates that it did fly with V Gruppen as well as III Gruppen.

Now I need to resupply my Luftwaffe colours and I'll be ready to go.

Hi,

I'll be building an old Airfix kit, FW 190D-9. I'll be using the kit decals, I am hoping for a simple build..

Bruce, do you know, that a Fw 190 A-8 with the markings as shown on your Eduard Weekend-Edition stands in a museum near Hannover in Germany? It's the only orginal Fw 190 in Germany and I've visited it already a few times as my parents live not far away from there .....

Anyway, my dual combo is nearly done. Both stand on their wheels and today I sprayed Future, or Glaenzer, as we don't get Future here .... The "Friedrich" is still missing the anti-tank-rockets, that will be done after decaling.
Tomorrow I'll start with the decals. If nothing bad happens, they should be finished by next weekend.

Happy modelling!

Thought it was about time I update my progress.

Cockpit is mostly together.

Putting wings together, and working on front end of fuselage.

A quick question, in regards to proper alignment of landing gear. Should I make a stand or use a slow setting glue so that I can get the proper stance? Any assistance would be graciously accepted. So far in my previous builds that has been my downfall. Help!
