Quick question(s)
Fixed wing only or rotary wing ok too?
What about sci-fi aircraft? There is not a current 'gettr done/hangar queen' campaign for sci-fi.
Would these fit?
Sci Fi fixed wing aircraft (Macross Zero SV-51r/a)

Sci fi rotary wing JGSDF AH Hellhound?

Either way I'm in with Amelia Earharts Lockheed Vega at least.

All right then here's what they look like today.

Within reach in the timeframe easily, but it's a Hasegawa kit with 497 tiny stencil decals, we will see.

I thought this one was farther along, it will be third if it gets done.

This thing is a dog of a kit, the gear is very fiddly. it's been shelved twice now. we will see..

Well I started my attempt for P-51 Mustang Heaven, I think it started in 2010, and ended in January 2011. It's been sitting on the back of the desk for that long....
I've been told that the plastic itself is from Hawk's tooling that was made in the mid-late 50's.

So I figured out I only needed to respray one colour to fix the major issues. Resprayed, looks beautiful. As I unmask the wings and horizontal stabilizers I see it has run under the tape, and the tape has pulled tonnes of paint away
I hate this 190, I hate model master acrylics, I am angry.
We'll see if I can find more clemency in my heart for the wurger before the campaign is up. Right now I want to use it for target practice.

Hi All,
Done a little bit on the F111, Humbrol's Insignia Red, has been applied to the main wing area's, as well as the leading and trailing wing flap sections.
Now to leave it for a couple of days and cover the Red wing sections with masking tape.

Well the gawdawful landing gear in on.
It's not even, it's not straight, but it's on.
And since the kit is destined for the timeline of powered flight hanging in my classroom, I'm going to be ok with that.

Not visable here is the fact the upper wing is 'glued' on with a generous smear of Squadron white putty contoured into place with an acetone soaked q-tip.
This is quite a dog of a kit. It would take a much more serious modeller than I to make it a contest entry.

@ Rob: Your F111 is looking good, and it will look great with those big tires

. For real the a/c is looking good and I cant wait to see her finished.
@ Mike: with the awsome paint job you will put on that Vega who cares about those skinny legs

looking good so far.

I'm a little worried about the long gold stripe decals, given the 'quality' of the rest of the kit. I'm not much for pinstriping, but if I have to I'll mask and airbrush them.
It will fit in right about here in the timeline, so from the desks, nobody will know it does not sit level..

This will be my third attempt at a Hangar Queen ribbon. I hope third time will truly be the charm. Candidates are probably the same as last time: something Monogram.

%*#{€£¥~@$!!!
Two tries with two different spray paints later , I'm going to have to strip the &$&@$& Vega and start over.
Something about the testors rattle can cold or something , it came out of a partly clogged nozzle all splotchy.
Then the Tamiya can a week later crazed that paint or the acrylic under it.
I should know better. Any stolen moment " I'll just...." Modeling sessions never end well.
&$$@&$!!!

Well, I'm mostly moved into my new digs. Just haven't gotten back to modeling. I'll be on one of them before long.
