Thanks Fred!
I had to re-coat the bottom and finish some touch ups, I think I can clear coat now and add decals.
Cheers Rob.

Thanks Ben!
It's a shame I made more work for myself by trying to freehand it.
Cheers Rob.

Hi Ian,
Thanks! and well done on the Lanc.
Clear coat on... but it felt rough in a couple of spots and after sanding requires a couple more touch ups.
Cheers Rob.

Here is my entry for the campaign this wonderful little kit arrived quite some time ago from Fred and was one of the ones Russell had made a start to as can be seen in the first photo. The wings were together but that was as far as the little model got. As most of you know I stopped modelling completely last year but as soon as Tomcat told me about the campaign I knew I had to take part in it I just hope I can do this wonderful little kit justice.
This is the current state of the kit I managed to get a base coat of the interior colour onto the model and spent a fair amount of time reading through the instructions still can not decide what markings for it to be finished in.

A really neat entry, Sam. With your modelling prowess, I'm certain you'll be making a beauty to place in the gallery.
Perhaps you should purchase a lotto ticket. You'll have a better chance at winning that, than you will getting modelling out of your blood.

@Rob - that camo on the Phantom looks incredible.
I have the paint on, the base coat on the struts, just waiting on my EZLine supplier, as there is no Canadian Mail Order for it, and the actual company won't ship to Canada, so have to go overseas. Unreal.

Well this one's for Russell:
Finished at break-neck speed by my standards and I enjoyed it. Little silvering and a stray drop of lacquer thinner burned some decals, weathering was dodgy. Very pleased all the same.

Thanks everyone. I'm pleased to see Russells campaign going so well. There are great works happening here. And I must say it has turned me around on 72 scale!

Hi, all. With the hard-drive on my PC hatched, I have to borrow my daughter's PC. It makes it hard for me to post anything. You ever try to rip a PC away from a girl??!!
Anyway, you may remember my last post's showing my evil failed attempt to make a featureless cockpit look decent. Here's some photo's to remind you:
I've been working away at improvements, and came up with this, which will just have to do:
Of course, compared to the real thing, this cockpit is pure fantasy. So what, it's been fun.
The work is quite further advanced since these photos were taken, but, posts may have to wait for a new hard-drive. Sorry. Ben

Looks good so far Ben!
I discovered that I have no decals to depict a Vietnam era F-4E so have had to order some from Hannants as that was the only place I could find any.
So I will start working on the base and ground equipment as well as all the ordnance.
Cheers Rob.

Best wishes,
Ian
