@Tim- Your P-47 pit looks wonderful. Anxious to see your engine painted. Well done, all around.
@Sam- I'm so glad to see your back at the desk with a project. The best hobbies are just to hard to leave. I'm really looking forward to your 'Tony' progress.
@Naseby- A fine looking JU-88. Your at the masking stage that seems to torment me in my builds. I hope you have a greater patience level than myself.
A great campaign with many fine builds happening. Good to see!!

Thanks Ben! When I saw this scheme on the sheet there was no doubt this was going to be the one. Plus, this A/C had 66 missions over the Reich.....incredible.
Best wishes,

Some great looking builds occuring here, Russell would be proud.
Here is my little Camel coming together, prop is not attached yet, just placed on for looks. And I made a huge error with decals, and did not notice it till it was too late. Oh well, while I like building planes, I think my forte is armor.
Just waiting on my ezline to arrive so I can add the rigging.

It's been a while since I posted an update. I managed to get some time on the bench after a long time. So right now the painting part is over. I am waiting for some masks to arrive for the greenhouse, hopefully I should get them by next week or so. I had a tough time with the decals. Most of them were damaged by the high humidity of my previous house. Now that I have shifted to the middle east, humidity will be the last of my worries Anyways, enough talk - time for some pictures
Various sub-assemblies
The fuselage
Dry fit
Camo is on
Decals are on as well
Once I get the masks i will paint the canopy, various probes and aerials and do a bit of weathering

My Tony is together and has been primed and some pre shading done on it. I do have pics on my camera but will have to wait until after I get back from holiday next week to get the pics off camera and uploaded. Thoroughly enjoying building this nice little kit

Hi all
The air intake below the engine block is made up from three parts. Although the prop looks good, it is a pain to remove from the sprue. The sprue attachment point is spread across two blades and the boss. So the key is to cut away the prop with plenty of excess plastic. A sharp blade and some patience will result a good looking prop. The engine cooling flaps and oil cooler shutters are separate parts.
The internal parts were sprayed zinc chromate. The two slots on the belly are for the fuel tank clamps. Hopefully I will button up the fuselage tomorrow.

Alright, I have given a shot at adding rigging to a 1/72 scale bi-plane for the first time. Not sure about adding more, it is a little frustrating.
I may give it a try to add some more of the prominent, but for my first attempt, I think I am happy.

Hi all
There are some excellent builds:
-Raj your solid nose Ju 88 looks great.
-The rigging you have attached to your Camel Kevin has improved its looks massively.
-Ian’s Lanc looks stunning particularly with the shark teeth on the nacelles.
Managed to button up the fuselage and add the wings this weekend. The plastic seems to respond very well to liquid glue so there is a nice bead of melted plastic on all the seams. The only slight gap is the join along the upper wing root. I was very dubious about butt joining the horizontal tail surfaces, but they seem pretty solid. I did read Gerald Voigt excellent article “Reading the seams” just to revise my gluing techniques.
Well worth a read, it’s pinned here on Aeroscale forums under Start Here [for beginners].
I was hoping to apply a primer this weekend, but the weather here in the UK has been poor. Applying primer here at home is definitely an outside job.
To be continued….

Tim----The Jug is really coming together well.
I did some sub-assembly work on the Lanc. The wheels were painted with Vallejo Dark Rubber and given black hubs. I also worked on the ordnance. I painted the striping on with a brush and then masked off both stripes and painted the bombs Bronze Green. The 4000 pounder was sprayed with bronze green as well.
Best wishes,
Ian

Hi all
I have made some rapid progress over the last few days. All seams were cleaned up and a coat of Halfords grey primer was applied. It was then sprayed with Halfords gloss black in preparation for using Alclad II Aluminium. I normally use Alclads II black gloss, but the cost of the postage for this paint is as much as the product itself. So the Halfords gloss is a bit of an experiment. Anyway as you can see it’s worked very well. The natural metal sheen is not too intense. I will weather some of the panels once the decals are applied. The blue and olive drab are Tamiya paint.
One negative was me breaking the fragile resin 0.5 gun barrels. The barrels are attached to a plug that forms part of the leading edge. They were broken as I was blending the plug into the wing. I might be able to glue the barrels back on or I may buy some turned metal barrels from Master.

Nice job on the NMF, Tim. You are moving right along.
Sadly, its garden planting time for me; the wife's got a gun to my head. No modeling likely until it's done. Perhaps Tuesday.
