The Cannuck is looking good.
Got the first set of decals on last night and today. They are taking a lot longer than I anticipated and very difficult to work with. They are thin, stubborn, do not like being moved once on the model, prone to tearing and resistant to microsol and set! I have had to give them a coat of microscale liquid decal film to strengthen them a bit.
Only another hundred or so to go.

Good luck with them decals, Stephen. The kit is looking really nice.

Thanks Ben. I've found that very hot water helps to soften and get them to settle down. I'm also going to try some thinned white glue under them. It's going to take a few days to get it all done though. They remind me of how Roden's decals used to be.
I have to commend Round2 models for giving us better quality and more accurate decals than in the AMT originals, but I do wish they had gone to someone like Cartograf to print them!

Time to catch up with Terrible Terrier. Whether it is the kit or the modeler, I had some fit problems. Much CA and some white glue to the rescue, plus sanding.
Russell was scandalized that in spite of my stable of airbrushes, that I would deign to use rattle cans. Yet, with my current situation, I am not able to fire up the a.b., so here's the jet with several coats of Dupli-Color:
I just sanded it down a bit to try to remove some sparklies. Next, decals!

I'm very proud to dedicate this to Russell, as well as the He 219.
Phil,
Thank you for finishing Russell's Uhu, and building the He 280 that he always wanted to build.

Ben,
Beauty that CF-100 is!
I, too, had a paint interaction on my Hasegawa Tony - I think the gloss white primer had not cured long enough before I applied the Tamiya aircraft aluminum.

Stephen,
One of the few things that competed for Russell's modeling attention was Star Trek. Russell was a walking encyclopedia of Gene Roddenberry's creation. Your shuttle would please him.

Fred, well done on the F-80.
I often use rattle cans for the pure ease. There is a slight learning curve so you don't pool it up, but, rattle cans are a savior.
I'm cheering for you to get her done!!!

Thanks, Russell had a few of his Trek models over on Model geek which were always nice to see. I remember he used to photoshop them into space backgrounds.
I'm persevering with it, whether I'll make the deadline is another question.
Good luck with the F-80.

That's amazing, Fred; and you did your magic in about only 10 days. Well done, indeed.
Good to hear from you, Terri. You'll be getting a ribbon soon for your wonderful P-51.
All my main colors are finally on. I hope to do decals tomorrow.

Ben and Frederick-----Nice pair of natural metal plank wing jets. Ben, you had a lot of cutting and bending but the -100 really shaped up nicely.
Best wishes,
Ian

Just needs the landing gear and blast pipe.
Russell didn't care much about sports but he did follow the St Louis Cardinals. Their caps in 1950 were dark blue with a red bill. That is how I painted the pilot's brain bucket and avoided matching paint to the blue nose decals.

I know that Russell would have liked that F-80, Fred. Looking at it now, it reminds me of the F-104 he built and entered in the monthly contest here on AeroScale.
