Hi folks.
As I stated earlier, I would much rather see these birds completed and on display than lined up in the "Hangar Queen" queue like so many of my past builds!
Time for a concerted effort, especially by me, to get these builds completed.
Thanks Michael for pushing out the official finish date.
Lap Man, super job on the mottling, can't wait to see the markings go on.
Steffen, the fuselage bands look great, and the decals went on very clean. No sign of silvering.
Daniel, more very neat detailing with the wires, looking good.
No updates from me, except for busy home and work life, but you lot don't want to hear about that !
Roll Call/Build Status page updated once again, lets bring them home now guys.
Cheers, D

Here the finished product, the tree's took a bit more time than expected,.. A lot longer than painting placing the decals and weathering this Revell Me 262.
So I lost a major component of this tiny kit,..the Canopy,.. I put it somewhere for me to cut it in half but I don't know where and as I now scratched a front screen I think I don't need it any more. The seen is a Messerschmitt that just left the assembly line at the "Waldwerk Staufen" and only needed the canopy to be put into action. Photo's of the actual factory show such aircraft without. For the purist, I know these aircraft that left the factory mostlikly did not had tactical codes,.. and looking now at it I should have removed the codes from the decal sheet with the balken kreuz but anyway,... the photo's

Awsome plane, awsome builds here and great campaign

@Jan--too cool!! Great little vignette. You tell a large story using minimal theatrics.
@Daniel--nice detail. I hate to be a nay-sayer, but I'm not sure the wire bundles were twisted. It makes it very difficult for us aircraft technicians to troubleshoot and repair broken or shorted cables. Just a small point, and right or wrong, the detail is still stunning!
@Steffan--your 'Sinner' paint scheme ame out well and is quite convincing. Can't wait to see it progress.
@Lap Man--impressive mottling job! How long did that take?
The two week extension is very generous, I might get the interior of mine done by then!
A little work on the port side. I'll figure out the routing as the cockpit tub is installed. It won't be accurate, but it'll look the part.
Good luck to everyone who's left as we approach the finish!

Beautiful little scene, Jan. I like it!
Keith, great work on the wiring. Looks really realistic although it might have been a bit different in reality. Looking forward to see more.

Jan: Cute little Dio and a well done build, congrats!
Keith & Daniel: ..and the price for maximum wiring goes to ... ? Great work guys!
Lap Man Very nice mottling indeed!
Yesterday I touched the finish line and with a small step I could have made it... but as we have an extension I decided not to fall in a hurry.
Move on everybody
Cheers, Thomas

After I failed my first two campaigns the third one made it real I finished my first campaign
And that's not all. I also fished my first kit after more than 3 decades, never used an airbrush for the main work before and never did this kind of paint/camo/weathering before.Probably it's a bit overdone.
Although for sure I'm quite happy even when I missed my expected goal.
This tiny kit wasn't that easy that I thought of, and still the worst thing is the canopy... but now I leave it.
Front break line made of lead wire, the pitot tube is a hypodermic needle in a stretched handle of a cotton bud.
Antenna wiring will be done on my next kit.
More about and some colorful pics will follow later, but for now just a quick look at the result.
More to come, thank's for looking!

Thomas, beautiful build.
You have hit the camouflage spot on! Difficult to see the difference in the pictures comparing the real thing and your model. Well done!
You should be very satisfied about this result'

Ditto to what other folks have said, Thomas. That mottling is beautiful!
Jan, the mostly complete and hidden in the woods edge is great! It's a hobby, so a little artistic license is fine with me. Nice build!
Keith, what are you using for the wiring? Maybe you said earlier, but I must have missed it.

Impressive progress reports guys, except from me that is
Jan, that is a great little diorama, certainly tells a story! Well done on getting completed. Now you know that the canopy will turn up because you have finished the build
Keith, Daniel, awesome detailing continues from you two.
Thomas, beautiful job on the mottling, you got it just right ! Congratulations on getting your first Campaign completed, hopefully the first of many for you. You have a way to go to catch up with Jesper though!
I am hoping to get a few hours done on my build tonight, the plan is to get the major assembly together and clean up any gaps. My tribe of children don't have ANY respect for my plans though, so wish me luck!
Cheers, D

Jesper, Jan, Mike, Oliver, Damian: Gentlemen, thanks a lot for your kind and flattering words
I much appreciate your comments and it looks like I'm not so far away from reasonable work.
My last completed build was Revell's "Cutty Sark" in the late 70's. Since then there are only a few Hangar-Queens unpainted at the "glue stage".
Now as I said some more Pics (could not resist a photoshoot).
Had a chance for using daylight outside also to compare with the indoor fotos.
The paints are Gunze (and Humbrol-never-again) acrylics, Revell enamels, self made water/alcohol based wash, pastels and pigments.
This kit have a lot of flaws (see progress posts) but the fit isn't bad. All over it looks like a "Schwalbe" though.
Revell's Me 262 A-1a 1/72: Hope you're not bored...
and finally with optional mounted WGr.21:
Thanks for looking (and hopefully enjoying)

@Thomas--outstanding build! And here I was thinking it was 1/48th scale all this time. Cool idea making the armament optional.
@Mike--for my cabling I used some kind of steel wire I found in my stash. It may actually be real aircraft wire! Or commercial electrical THHN.
@Daniel--what are you using for yours?

So finally I managed to finish it.
I´m not that happy with it. The colours are way to dark in my opinion and the build with the weights in the nose were a pain in the ass and it´s still a tail sitter.

It's basically the "clervaux" method by Claude Joachim(and I needed to dig into the Kitmaker find function too look it up. See this (http://armorama.com/forums/224721&page=1&ord=1) same method only then on 1/144 scale,..
Nice progress Daniel!
Damian, the canopy has not yet been found although I was expecting the same
Richard and Jan Congratulations! nice builds
