It is indeed
a beautiful kit.

Recently took advantage of Wingnut Wings water damaged stock sale and bought the FE2.B. It arrived today with a surprise in the box! A copy of Windsocks SE.5a Squadrons sent with compliments. Thank you Wingnut Wings! Easily my favourite model company.
The water damage was simply some staining on the bottom of the box and creases in the corners. The contents, sprues, instructions and decals were all sealed in their bags and were of course pristine. A shame about the box top, but a small price to pay for getting the kit at a lower price.
A little scared by the complex rig, but with practice on some others I reckon I can tackle it. Eventually.
On the bench: 1/72 Mosquito, Lightning F.6, DH.2,
AMT Vulcan Shuttle Surak.
Cyber-Hobby 1:35 Sherman Firefly IC - still stalled.

Havent bought much in a while kit wise though I did buy a water damaged WNW kit, the DH.9a and it was a great deal with perfect contents and the Se.5 book seen above.
But seeing as I just got around to figuring out how to use Imgur and with this arriving today I decided to share the joy!

Ive wanted to build an Israeli spitfire or two and this gets me there with 6 options! Meaning some left over decals and exhaust for a 2nd kit down the line!

It may be over by now, it was over a month ago.
Update: I just checked out of curiosity. All damaged aircraft kits appear sold out. They do have some of the water damaged WWI figure vignettes still at about $100 off retail. Check out shop.wingnutwings(dot)com. It has all the current offerings in a simple scroll down list

Darn it, I would like to try one of those WNW kits, but that really isn't my scale, and as such the price is way too high for me. Would have been the perfect opportunity to try one, oh well, maybe some other time.

Now the winter months are here it's time to start picking up a few kits to add to the growing stash .
WNW Sopwith Camel
Revells new tooled P-51D in 32 scale
Airfix's new tooled P-51D with Eduards PE set and Seatbelts .
Like the Airfix kit so much I pick up another one with Eduards resin sets . Cockpit , Wheels and prop/spinner .

Nice haul! All of those have some great box art too, IMHO anyway. The Revell Mustang really speaks to me and if I only ever get to build one sopwith camel I hope "Wonga Bonga" is an option. Thankfully the stash has me covered at the moment, in 1/48.

My last prey for 2017. Yesterdays club meeting brought me the new BP Defiant NF 1 from Airfix ....

.... and another "Flying Tank", the Il-2 as single seater from Revell, which is most likely the old Accurate Miniatures kit. There's a nice winter camo version, which I will build ....

Would both kits qualify for the "Hot Out Of The Moulds Campaign 2018" as they are brand new? Would love to build the Night Defiant for it.

Well the postman didn't bring these and this really isnt how christmas shopping is suppose to work ....but the flea market had some offerings this Japanese aviation enthusiast couldnt just leave behind. Really brightened up my typically dull holiday shopping experience

I don't know about the little Jake, but Hasegawa's big Hayate is a gorgeous kit!

Been a while since I posted anything on the site but felt something might apply to this thread. It wasn't exactly delivered by the regular postman but by a chubby fellow in a red suit last week. I didn't really ask for it but nevertheless it appeared. It was

as you can see by Zvezda and as their vehicles it resides in a heavier internal corrugated cardboard box.

I saw this on a website going cheap, having built one before I knew it was good value and I was on the look out for a paint mule.
My thought process went something like this.
step 1: ooh, a good value paint mule.
step 2: be a shame to waste as a paint mule, maybe a no pressure ootb build.
step 3: 'lil bit of after market probably wouldn't hurt.
step 4: THIS WILL BE MY MAGNUM OPUS!!
step 5: sits in a stash for years. *edit for clarity*

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I got these models four days ago.
Tamiya 1/48 British Lancaster Dambusters Grand Slam Model Kit
and
Tamiya 1/350 Japanese Battleship Musashi Model Kit
Can't wait to get started on them. Would anyone know if there is any type of meet ups around my area to chit chat about models or work on a group project ?
Give me a ring or message at 07768952798 UK.
I'll let everyone know how these models turn out.
Thanks

Hi Charlie,
I would suggest that you search out an IPMS branch in your vicinity (try
this list) to find welcoming modellers to hang around with. Please be cautious with posting your contact information online; it can be dangerous.

That's pretty much for early 2018, John!
I was at the Stetten Expo last weekend (about 180 km from my home) and found these kits suitable for my stash ....
Hanomag SS 100 Heavy Tractor (new from Tamiya)
Spitfire Vb from Airfix
Hawker Sea Fury FB 11 from Airfix (all in 1/48)
I like the camo scheme of the Malta Spit in Dark Earth and Sea Grey in combination with the Vokes Filter. And the Hanomag should be done for my next Expo in Thun/Switzerland in 5 weeks ....

Have a nice week!

Charlie,
Jessica is 100% right on both. I'd edit your post and remove your contact number. You never know who would use it for what.

Torsten,
those kits should keep you busy for at least a little while.
John,
That's some haul you've got there. I guess your a Russian aircraft enthusiast.

Hi again
A couple of nice treats arrived today, timed perfectly for my birthday!

Many thanks to Andy for passing these on from Eduard.
Look out for reviews soon - and, yes, the Brassin wheels are a timely reminder that I must get back to my poor neglected Delfin!
All the best
