Terri, you may remember me asking about whether a plane would qualify if what it carried had stripes. Here is what I was talking about..

Click on the piccy for a larger one.

It was a little obtuse, but the missiles and bombs all have stripes!

Two very fine builds Penny ! The F4F turned out really well ! But where are the stripes on the harrie ?

Sorry Warren , but the stripes have to be on the aircraft itself . I will give you a B+ for your persistence and a smilely face

Super job, Penny. I do an occasional 1/144 plane, for fun and variety. With care, and talent, they can be made into beautiful representations...just like yours.

Cheers,
Mike

Excellent job on those small birds, Penny. They look great especially considering the scale.

Andrew, great Lizzie! I love that paint scheme and you've done a really nice job on it.
Penny, WOW! I can't believe how great those little bitty camo schemes turned out. Nice work ya'll.

Hi,

Here's my entry, not quite completed, of course.

I started it way back in January, then the whole family got flu for a month, and I never got around to finishing it. I joined up here and saw this campaign, and that gave me the push to get back to it.

The kit is Roden's 1/72 Fokker Dr.1, and the markings are, perhaps a little controversial.

Ernst Udet inherited this triplane, 586/17, from Hans Kirschstein, who had it painted with black and white stripes. I saw a profile of it as if Udet had had it repainted in REd and blue and thought it would be good to model because; a. it would look pretty, b. it would be a real challenge to paint, c. it would be fun.

So far b and c are true, and hopefully in a week or so, A will also be true.

Sorry. It seems I have no idea how to add photos

Sorry. It seems I have no idea how to add photos

all you have to do is surround the photo URL (which you can get by right clicking on your photo and selecting copy image location then paste that into your post with Ctrl+V ) with {img} and {/img} on both sides - just replace the "{"s with "[".

so for yours, it is:

{img}http://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/500/udet_dr1_1.jpg{/img}

(make sure there are no extra spaces between the brackets and the brackets)

which looks like this when you use the [ ]:

There is an even easier way to show piccies. ALl you do is upload them into your gallery, open the picture and then at the end of the name of the thunbnail is a little symbol you click on that comes up with another file location in a box below. This is the name of the file location for the larger ppicture. ALl you have to do is copy and paste the full name into your post.

Thanks guys.

I need some practice at this.

I better do some more building and posting.

A pity there is no Preview function on a post.

lovely work guys and girls,

Penny, 1:144... I wouldnt dare go there, my hat is off to you.

Rob, a controversial but beautiful scheme I had contemplated for the up and coming fokker/camel campaign. Nice to see it on plastic.

Byron, I just love the metalising, looks spot on to me,

Now to prove I am still doing something, a little progress on the DVII, not much as I slipped into Albi mode, and as tempted as I am to stripe her I started well before the campaign kicked off so she wouldnt count.

I have to work on the torn linen on the top wing, construct the tarp that covers the cockpit and maybe guns...that bits "in the air" so to speak at the moment, then weather her up, add the odds and sods and do the prop. Just see how long it takes LOL

Adds...Kornbeef points to the teensie bit of rigging on the tail for Terri's benefit

Looking good Keith ! Nice to see some progress on this build .

I'm having one hell of time with these overly thick Eduard decals !

Ruffus , I would have to agree with Keith . Your NMF looks super !

This weekend I will finnish the wings, I am still undecided about the scheme,

OR

and would this one qualify? I mean, for the stripe theme of this campaign.

any opinions?

Byron

10/08/09: well. it is official, I cann't do the wing tanks, I was so close to smash my head against the wall, but I will have to accept the facts of life and paint the F&%$ers with aluminum paint; the wings, already metalized.

Very nicely done Ruffus ! Your NMF looks spectacular ! I tried it once , made a really big mess never tried it again .

In reguards to your FS 271 build there is a stripe running down the fuselage side and ones on the tail so it does hold to what the theme of the campaign is .

Thanks Terri, but those aren't mine, they are from Tamiya; I am still strugling with the wing tanks. I refuse to give up. I just take this week off. doing a car for my son.

Part of Poland has made a very nice PE sheet wih a lot of details that can't be reproduced in 1/72. I've stared to bend and fold the interior PE parts
