Hi Bruce. I recently purchased this cheap on EBay.
I think its a cool looking little airplane, and within my capacity to build. As far as I know, though, there was only 4 full-scale efforts ever built. Will it still fit into your campaign.
I haven't enlisted because I'm in a few campaigns already, and failed at one last year (felt like a loser). The time lines are working for me, however, and I feel this will be OK. I think I'll enlist, if you'll pass the plane.
Thanks. Guy

It isn't military, so you should be good to go. It is a great little kit too. Just take your time. Most, if not all, of the Williams Bros. kits take some tinkering to get them right. Looking forward to seeing your efforts. "Q"

Hello Guy,
As long as it was not an military or exmilitry plane is fits right in for this campaign.
And I agree with Matthew,
Take your time and you should be OK.
Thanks for joining in,
Cheers,
Bruce

@ Bruce, count me in! I think this is a great idea for a campaign!
@ Justin, my friend, you are kiiling me!! When i was in the United States Coast Guard we where very much a member of the Armed Forces. Territorial patrol, drug interdiction, search and rescue(my mod) and weather stations where our main areas of responsiblity then and we have since taken on port security, and anti-terrorist patrols. In WWI and WWII the USCG operated all small boats for the Navy and the Army. For instance there was not one invasion in WWII when the coxain of the landing craft was not a coastie.
SO....I think you doing an HH-65 Dolphin in it's civilain colours would be a wonderful build, specially as it is a French built commuter helo modified specifically to SAR requirements, I would have to object to an SH-60F Jayhawk back converted to an SH-70 exec transporter.
so please, dont ever think the Coast Guard is not a member of the US Armed Forces.

@ Bruce no disrespect once so ever thats why I asked if I could use the dolphin In its coast guard colors.Although technically they are part of the armed forces and I felt that wouldn't be fair in this campaign so I did un enlist as I dont really build civi.
At the time when I posted that I did research on the coast guard and then opened my mouth poured ketchup on my foot and put it in my mouth.

Justin, no sweat my friend. But I am sorry to hear you unenlisted as I think you'd have done a great job. In all honesty I've never done a civillian plane and I still don't have an idea what is out there I just want to do this because I think it would be a good break from all the military stuff

Well, I finally decided what to do for this campaign
I'm going to grab a Testors 1/48 kit of the 02A Skymaster of Vietnam fame and back date it to it's Cessna 337 roots.
Shouldn't really be too hard And lord knows there is enough referance out there )

Well, I finished this Lockheed Super Constellation over the last week. The decals were problematic, with some cracking and chipping but I think I was able to salvage things.
It is 1/144 scale, standard airliner scale, I hope you enjoy looking at it. Russell

Well, as I said in another thread, I'm supposed to be 'retired' and in the Philipines asleep on the beach. That's what I get for owning a company; now, on Monday I have to go north instead of south. Oh Well! I may as well get to some campaigns, and try to keep warm.
For this campaign, I'm going to be starting this little SuperAce today. It seems fairly basic:
Here's the proof its not started yet:
I do hope it works out.

@ Guy: so you know how many of those were build? I remember when the kit came out and never purchased one and could kick myself for not doing so, especially when the $ was not as big as now.
@ Harv: What scheme are you planning on doing your J3 in so I do not do the same. It would be nice to veiw two different birds. PS what is your experiance with clear fuselages, any tips.

I had all of last week off to prepare for the IPMS UK nationals but managed to get my West Pac jet started as well.
I'm using the Minicraft Boeing 737-300 kit with the Skyline Decals
Some time back when I started a project to build all of the Western Pacific logo jets I decided to Scratch a basic cockpit and a seemless intake for the engines. Here are the masters and the moulds
After casting a cockpit and 2 engines, work started on the kit the cockpit and pilots were painted in basic colours and then mounted in the fuselage with some lead shot.
I decide to box in the main undercarriage bay as there is nothing provided.
Once i was happy with the fit the fuselage halves were glued together
Now the next task at hand is to scribe the panel lines in on the fuselage

I was thinking of doing the Dornier Do.27. I saw that it was also used for military but I am doing the Serengeti Safari version is that ok for this campaign? I wanted to check before I ordered it. I thought the paint job looked cool.
