Murdo, thanks for the post. Either the Cherokee is bigger or the Spit is smaller than I thought.

I finally got going on mine a couple days ago. Decided to go with something a bit less seen, and a lot more challenging. Challenging as far as the subject, and also the manufacturer. So far I have gotten a fair amount of work done to her. All parts have been clipped free and a bit of assembly done. Have to wait for putty to dry and be sanded before continuing. Hoping to make some good headway tomorrow though. We got a nasty storm front moving in which should provide a good opportunity to stay indoors and build. Thanks, "Q"

Matt, send some of the snow my way and that looks like the very kit that I threw in the trash back in 1970. Good luck on blending the corrugated piece with the other

Well Matthew, as your neighbor to the north I can let you know that we have been getting snowed on for two days now and have had a winter storm advisory in place since Friday. So I am sure you will be getting some of it!!
Bob, if you want some of this snow you can have it!! I will see what I can do to get it routed in your direction!!
On that note. It has provided me with the opportunity to get in some modeling. I worked on a project most of the day yesterday and plan on doing the same today. Hopefully I will get started on the Piper Cub that I am building for this campaign.

Big ugly got some wings added to her this morning while I was waiting for the snow to fall....which it has started to do. Hoping to finish this up later today and get her hung from my ceiling. Thanks, "Q"

@ Harv: I miss the snow, Denver, Loveland, Monument Hill, Fort Collins, Longmont, Greeley not so much it smells.
@ Matt: I think you should put "BIG UGLY" on the side of the nose and if you are too busy I will free hand the name on some clear decal sheet for ya BTW the wings are nicely done.

Well, Big Ugly is done and hanging with my other planes from the ceiling. This was a fun little build. Definitely not something I would usually have picked, but change is good. The white on the windows is the Krystal Kleer I used to make them. I took some liberty with the call letters as the kit decals were trashed. Most of you should get the joke. As rigging was minimal on this thing, I rigged it with some .012 stainless steel wire. Will post a pic in the gallery here shortly. Thanks, "Q"

What can I say... The ceiling is rapidly filling up with these builds, but it's better than tossing them out, or not finishing them. Thanks, "Q"

Finally.. finished.. Please whatever you do don't buy this model unless you are a sado-masochist and own shares in a company producing filler.

Now for a little rest before I go back to the Bearcat.

Very nice Warren. Is this the Airfix kit? What scale? I have the 1/72 offering from Airfix on my shelves and another 1/144 kit with the special PEPSI markings for it.
Looks like it came out well to me. "Q"

@ Q - It is the 1/72 Airfix offering. Those floor tiles are 500mm square which should give you some idea how big it is. If I was you I would sell it on Ebay while you have your sanity!
@ Bob - Thanks, I think..
As I typed before I couldn't recommend this kit to anyone unless you have a great love of filling and re-scribing lines, or like me, want a big-ass airliner for your cupboard or in your case Q, ceiling.. It even gives you instructions on how to prepare it for a life of dust-collecting.. and it comes with the biggest stand I have ever seen for a model plane.

Warren, I made the reference to your fantastic building speed and the ability to produce a nice model from that kit. Great work. ( I guess you do not remember the late 1960,s early 1970,s cartoon SPEED RACER)

Be careful...it might be a falling train. Glad to hear things are beginning to dry out down there. Watched some video online of the flooding and all I can say is WOW. "Q" What is that big bright light up in the sky??

Falling train..
Some of the storms we have had recently have released much more energy than any train ever has!!
Thanks for that Q. And it looks like it is going to be another beautiful day today.

I finally started the kit and ran into a problem first off. I could not assemble the engine to fit into the two piece cowl so I cut the cylinders off and will attach them after the cowl is glued onto the fuselage.
I still need to attach the anemic interior seats plus the rear bulk head was a pain, as a matter of fact the instructions are just plain trash I did paint the interior white YEAH!

Now that I have finished the Phantom for my client, I finally got back to my campaign builds.
Scribing the panel lines on the fuselage is finished. (notice in the background that work has also started on the engines)
and work has started on the wings
As always comments, suggestions and critique is welcomed

All I've done to the Super Ace is too clean up some parts. Now that I'm done the P-51 Campaign, I might have the time to get on with it.
Some time ago, I recieved a Denko Cessna CR-3 in the mail. This is a beautiful resin kit, which is crying to be built. I've never built a resin kit before.
I'm struggling to decide which one to build, taking my time over a brew. Nothing to worry about, just looking over kits and paint.
Oh! Wait a minute. Didn't Von Cuda not select the Super Ace because I was to build it, and went on to complete some other thing? It might hurt his feelings if I didn't build the Super Ace.
Von Cuda, this ones for you. I'll build the Super Ace, as best as I can.
