Thanks so far I have done this one and the Braodmoor Jet, I've still to do some more including Thrifty, Security Service, Colorado Springs and Colorado Tech. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for Skyline Decals to release the rest of the West Pac range.Allen love the Simpsons livery on your Boeing 737.

Hi all
Thanks for all the advice. Finaly enlisted to make it 10. Did not realise you had to log in to enlist. I can start looking for some interesting airline liveries if it's not possible to do the Constellation.

I know the Sioux is unacceptable for this campaign, but Im so darned pleased I thought I would share..I found one in 1:72 on E Bay and managed to win the auction on it!...it was a bit more $$ than I wanted to spend ...but you get caught up in the moment there ..lol..I also found the photo etch set for it , and Im going to do her up as a crop duster , or a traffic reporting helicopter ...

Hello All,
The Connie is allowed. It was designed for civilian use before the war. Remember we have 11 months to decided what to build/
Jim, I will check in on the Sioux to see if it will fit in the rules, tomorrow.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce
That's great, I am sure there must be a few of these great looking aircraft in modellers stashes. I fancy the TWA the line that originaly ordered the Constellation.

It depends on the kit I think..Ive heard that early Trump is a bit soft on detail, and later trump is great for detail, but has a high part count. I have the Trump Hind Helicopter and it looks STUNNING!!!

Hello Jim,
If you build you helicopter as the Bell 47 not the H-13, It fits in the campaign.
The Bell 47 was first produced as a civilian Helicopter, Then the Military bought a bunch of them.
If anyone has anyother info that shows me wrong, Please let me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

If I don't do a B737 would this be acceptable as I've always fancied doing a HH-60J Jayhawk without having to mess with conversions sets, etc and Hobby Boss recently released one.

Hello Allen,
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. The HH-60J is not allowed. It was designed from the SH-60 Seahawk and it is armed. This campaign is about civilian planes/helicopters only and they must be unarmed and non military origin.
Again, I am sorry to say no.
Cheers,
Bruce

No worries, I didn't think it would be but it was worth a a shot (to be honest I didn't realise the Jayhawk was armed).
At least I have a little time to search through my stash to try and find my West Pac 737's

Hello Allen,
It is used for drug enforcement and other semi-military roles. It is armed with machine guns and properly some other weapons that they do not want say about.
We have about 11 months to figure out what to build. Good thing I have a super Connie in the stash or I would have to make a decision on what to build. Thanks for the question, It gave me the time to learn about the HH-60J. I do love the research on different types of aircraft.
Cheers,
Bruce

How about the Ford Tri-Motor? It was designed and flow originally as a civilian plane but the military ised them a bit afterwards.
Posted: Monday, January 11, 2010 - 01:07 PM UTC
Hello Mike,
The ford's OK also the DC 3 is OK. Both were made for civilian use first, Then the Military used them. The Iron Annie is also allowed even if it did have a bomb door in it.
Cheers,
Bruce

How did this one slip past, as I proposed something similar last year I have to sign up. Funnily enough I just decided to build the Revell 1/144 Connie in the stash in the shiny aircraft campaign. However I have a cunning plan, Heritage Aviation models do a good range of light aircraft kits including the DH88 Comet and Percival Mew Gull. I really fancy a 1/48 Black Magic, beautiful. They are also proposing a Luscombe Silvaire in 1/48, I'd go for that. I built their Grob 109B last year, they need more skill than most being mixed media but the results were OK.

Here is what I plan on building for this campaign.
I am looking forward to building this kit. It should be fun and I am looking forward to seeing it completed.
Thanks,
HARV

Hi Andy,
I was considering doing the Ford Tri-motor myself. I don't know why but I think it is a pretty cool aircraft. I chose the Piper Cub because my father owned one (a real one) back in the 1950s.

Just a friendly little bump.
I thought I would help out Bruce and see if there are any others interested in enlisting.
