If you have not uploaded yet (AUSSIE what a slacker)here is the link to the gallery:
That's right, pick on the guy on the other side of the planet !!
I only have crappy pics at the moment from my mobile phone, didn't want to spoil the quality of the gallery on ya Justin. But if you insist, I'll load them up tonight.

Man, you guys/gals are really putting on some pressure with these awesome builds!
Leo - Fantastic razorback. Great job on breaking up that O.D. finish in a convincing way.
Mark - I really like seeing Altermatt's P-47M. I have those decals and always wondered what it would look like all painted up. Love those colors.
Nigel - Also looking good with the paint and masks.
But mainly, I feel a special bond with Joe as we separately tackle these P-38 Lightnings. I'm still working on P-38H "Thoughts of Midnite," having gotten a spare kit and robbed it to replace the warped tailbooms that I ruined trying to unwarp

The kit is like a nefarious scheme between Hasegawa and MicroMark to sell more sanding sticks. It's gotta be one of Hasegawa's worst in terms of poorly-engineered inserts for multiple versions of a kit.
You can see I still have more sanding to do, but should make the paint shop this weekend...

Hey Tom - yeah the Hasegawa P-38 is a pain for fit and will test patience to the Nth degree. At the moment I'm stuck at cleaning up the radiator intakes, tedious but the results will be worth it.
Over the years I've found that using sheet plastic as filler with Hasegawa kits really speeds up work and cuts down on buying sanding sticks and such. I should have used some when I did the nose but got into a hurry. Now noted on the instruction sheet for the next build.

Well, she's in the gallery now, Justin.
Man, Nigel, that really beats decals. Can't see how you do it, seems like an awful lot of DeLuxe Eyeballing...
I'm so glad I got the academy Lightnig. Could't bring up the elbow grease you guys do for that hasegawas. Respect!
Keep it up, all, I'm glad to be watching now!

Just wanted to mention that I have had a few ask for an extension so it will run until the end of November to give the stragglers time to finish

Some progress has been made on the P-38.
I've been cleaning up the radiator intakes by removing and reshaping the kit parts to a more accurate profile.

The engine cowl opening on the underside of the boom has been opened up by scribing and scraping away at the plastic.

I resemble that remark!

Thanks for the extension. I was struggling trying to get 2 campaign builds done in September. This guarantees that I will finish "Thoughts of Midnite" in time. Unless I melt another set of parts!

Obviously I'm having a few beginner issues.

Nice looking P-51 Ray! I am up to builds 9 & 10 and am still learning heaps, just need to remember those mistakes I have made so I don't do them again!

Hi all
Well, I think this is one of the campaigns that I will not make. I wanted to do the HB F-105D with lots of resin involved and really one month is just not enough for that. I had planned to start it 2 or 3 weeks ago, but my P-38 Lightning is not going as well as I want so I will rather try to finish that one over the next weeks than to start another project that I will not finish in time.
It was/is a great campaign with loads of beautiful aircraft!! so model on ... and I will keep watching
all the best

Hey Steffen I know how you feel about the Lightning. It's a big pain with all of the test fitting and such. Even just OOB!
I was going to do the HB F-105D too and OOB but the canyon between the consoles and the fuselage sides was a bit much. So like you I'll do a ton of resin in it one day. Or scratchbuild the various bits.
In the meantime I'm at the point of getting the booms together for the P-38 after doing a bunch of prep/clean up work on both. With any luck after all of the test fitting and adjustments I'll put some glue on this weekend.

Thanks Mark! I'm glad you like it... It's difficult not to compare my humble little builds to some of the amazing things you see on here, but I'm having a blast and learning a lot with every new kit! I just got a box full of stuff from E-bay today, more goodies for my growing stash! Amazing builds here guys! Can't wait for Pin-Ups 2!!!

Beautiful gal- I mean planes guys!
Here is a pic of my build for the campaign. Haven't finished anything significant yet, but will upload more photos as soon as I do. Will be on the road for about two weeks, so you guys may not here from me till after then.

Cheers
