Hi all!
Many nice build going on here!
Keep up the good work guys, and gals!
The ´Cobra pit almost ready for paint!
I´ll let the pics speak for themselves;
No problems whatsoever this far!
Everything fits very well, and this is a Short-run kit after all!
A short run kit can’t be much better then this!
But, I get a very strong feeling of “Déjà-vu”, I’ve seen this before!
Many details, solutions and the breakdown of parts reminds me of Eduard’s P-39 in 1/48th scale!
Maybe Special-Hobby has enlarged Eduard’s kit?
They are known to cooperate between companies, the Czechs, and I don’t complain!
More to come soon!

Stefan, it is nice that the little a/c gremlins do not know where you live BTW the cockpit is looking good with all of those goodies.

Hey Justin, I have a quick question for you... I won a set of 1/48 pin-up decals on E-bay. There are 119 of 'em!!! I'll probably never be able to use all of them! I'm sure that they aren't historically acurate but they're beautifully done. So my question is, does my build in this campaign have to represent an actual aircraft, or is it okay to use my choice of markings to make up a "fantasy" plane? Maybe a representation of what I would want my plane to look like had I been a pilot? I promise it won't be some silly unbelievable contraption! I'll keep it authentic. I'd just really love to use one of these decals for this campaign!

Have fun my friend. If it were me I would use all of them
Would need a bigger plane though .The mustang I posted earlier was one that I wanted mine to look like. Its not acurate by any means but im mor of a color outside of the lines guy anyways.

Hey Justin, sorry buddy but I just went fishing last night too.
Just got the Hasegawa P-38 Lightning with the "Virginia Marie" scheme. I've been busy at the end of the semester and work but I'm back. I've been dying to get back to my desk without any books on it.

Just a quick update (no pictures)
Still been waiting hand on foot for Sam but hopefully her cast is coming off this week so we can get back to some sembalance of order.
As such I've only been tinkering with my mustang but I have finally got it primed and painted Alclad Aluminium. Next will be to pick out panels with Duralminium and Dark Aluminium. Then it'll be more masking to paint the nose and rudder in Red.
Hopefully Mal will provide me with some of his Miracle Masks so I can get the serials and national insignia painted on soon as well.

hmmmm? well I'd love to be posting pics of my amazing build, or even a snapshot or two of some progress that I've made, but I'm about to just chuck everything in a box, set it on my grill, douse it in gas and put myself outta my misery!!!! how do you guys do it??? my build is going along fine and then I go to work on my canopy and it all goes to hell, I've ruined the damned thing and lost all motivation to even try it again. I just can't figure it out! I tried BMF, I tried Tamiya mask, I tried frisket... I just can't do it!!!

Ray, it is time to put the plane down and walk away for awhile. Give your self a break go breath some roses, do something else. Go back to the plane after you are rested/mindset and use your skills or the ones you just learned and try again. I know that you will get some really good advice from those who are great at canopies, just take it slow and let the anger disolve away. I use a big hammer which sets on my table within arms reach that scares the kits to death. I will let the others give you their trials and we all have had and still have them.

Thanks for the kind words Bob! I guess I just overestimated my skills... It's really difficult to mask the bubble on a Mustang D! I've spent the last hour online looking for help, and ya know what? I found it! If you cant do something yourself, find someone who can do it for you! So I found the paint mask set from Eduard... I'll spend a few extra bucks, have Hasegawa send me a new bubble, and get the job done... on second thought, ya know what? It shouldn't feel like a job! HAHA! I'm gonna leave it sit for a bit like you said, and come back to it in a few days when it feels like fun again...
