How is that? Not a single complete word in the title? Essentially A group of the Aeroscale Early Aviation crowd are excited about the new series of WWI aircraft subjects and want a place where each kit can be examined, built and shown off. So here is the skinny.

Start date October 1, 2009 to Nov. 11, 2010.

The rules of this GB will be;
1. It must be a Wingnut Wings 1/32 aircraft kit.
2. It can be as basic as OOB or as detailed as the builder can make.
3. Detail your build over on the Early aviation title where you can ask questions of the experts.

Enrollment will be open throught the sign up date to the last day of the GB. I want everyone to have a chance. Since I am the Aeroscale staffer leading this foray and the WNW contact. I recuse myself from the winner's circle possibilities. I will be calling on nonparticipating staffers to assist in the judging.

Ok its time to start thinking about your individual threads here. As of Oct 1, all Eduard threads will go unpinned in the Early Aviation title and new threads for the WNW GB will be pinned. For continuity please follow this titling. Replace the kit type and builders name with your own needs.

WNW GB 2009 - 10 Junkers J.I - Stephen

All similarly titled docs will be pinned there. I will come back with an posting in your thread that leads back to the Campaign link and at the Campaign title I will link back to your build thread here at Early Aviation. At the end I will build a collage of our images in several posts here on the Campaign thread.

This thread will be for admin. i will post links to the various threads here and offer reference lists. Maybe even offer some comments from the folks at Wingnut Wings. I will also field questions and concerns from here.

Now, I will be looking for a wingman as it were to fill in case I win the lottery and head down to the Bahamas.

Gentle folk of the Group Build there are 13 Warriors signed up so far and this (after much high level discussion) is the winner. Behold the Blood Order of the KiwI! Thanks, in no small part to our Good man Jean-Luc!

The start house it finished with a fresh coat of paint. The new WNW 1:32 Group Build Hangar sits next doror to the Early Aviation Hangar. The all-girl ground crew is sweeping up and putting away the finishing tools. except for 5 of the crew that have been appropriated by General of the Aeroscale Air Service Rowan (Merlin) camelhill - Baylies for his transit to the new digs at the Isle of Wight.

We have 13 stalls / bays set up for the initial members of the GB. Hopefully we will add more as time goes on. Electricity will be switched on tomorrow. WorKing by shop light and generator now.

For instance... search - Brisfit 1952 - and you will find J.M. Bruce's write up on the F2B. OR -AlbD1 1917 - and you will get the Albatros D1 writeup circa 1917. Look up J.M. Bruce and get his WWI writeups.

The only problem with the FlightGlobal site is the index's are issue to issue.. The Great thing about Mr. Riley's discs is that is has a single overall index to every issue by subject. So instead of hours it only takes a couple of minutes to find what your looking for.

Looks like the southern hemisphere santa's workshop is trying to get a bird and a canine out before Christmas. We"ll see.

I just got this from Richard Alexander at WNW.

"Hi Stephen,

I think it's a good thing for modellers to guess (and even make requests for) the Albatros (and other aircraft) schemes. We will consider all suggestions (especially those backed up with photographic references) for possible future decal options. All I can say for now is that the box art aircraft for the D.V is from Jasta 5.

We're constantly checking out the progress of the group builders on Aeroscale. It's great to see so many taking part and making great progress, though those who are incorporating extra photo etch into their builds are possibly making a rod for their own backs.

Can you please pass on how impressed we are with the the quality of the builds and progress so far. Good luck to them all.

Hi Stephen

Well, I made a tentative start on my D.V last night, really just cleaning up and test-fitting the fuselage formers. So far I'm really impressed and it all lives up to what I've read about Wingnuts kits. The first real job will be to take care of the ejector pin marks inside the fuselage - I'll make a proper start on that next week, with a separate Earlybirds thread for my build.

I have just receieved my WNW Sopwith Pup, a beautiful little model!

As I´m usually modelling aircrafts with only one set of wings, this seems to be a good starting point, and save the Bristol (and my sanity ) for the future!

Can you Please change my build from the Brisfit to the Sopwith Pup?
