Hi Keith: I have the DV and I will be watching for your blog, and building right along with you. I agree with you on the markings, but as you said, where do you stop? WIth over 70 markings for it in the pipeline, it won't be long now.

Not sure but I guess to get credit the pictures have to be posted here.

I decided to do the WNW SE.5a for the WNW Group Build: I started back in November of 09, but due to a cranial/rectal inversion I accidentaly melted a portion of the plastic. Undaunted I got another one and here it is. It is the kit markings of a 24 sqn bird flown by 2nd Lt A.P.C Wigan March 1918. There were aspects of the kit that I think could be improved, the instructions were a little vague in certain areas, and need to be followed and reviewed in depth before commencing the next step. Fit was tight all around and trimming of paint was required in some areas to ensure a good fit, but no major problems. The decals went on nicely and laid down smooth. I used brass wire twisted for turnbuckles and fine EZ line for rigging. I followed the paint guide using Tamiya colors save for Testors MM Flat White on the wheel covers and Testors Panzer Grey for the tires. The prop is Tamiya paint and Raw Umber oils with Testors steel for the prop boss. I mixed the paint for PC 10 per instructions but threw in a little extra brown, I think I got it too brown, but one can't be too dogmatic about colors, so I have read, and I like the color. I used counter shading on the undersides and am satisfied with the results, albeit the pictures don't convey it very well.

Hello Kind People,
In spite of the fact that I totally hate deadlines, I am going to jump in here with an S.E.-5a. I have started the cockpit and painted and stripped and painted and stripped and painted too many times to count. I just want to get it right.

I will start a thread and provide pictures as soon as I get my camera sorted out
in how to take close-ups. According to the guy who sold it to me, the camera WILL do just that.

Did I mention how much I hate deadlines. This obsession has cost me dearly in the past, but I am going to really try to come through in this instance.

I have been following this build from the sideline, and must confess being totally stunned by the quality of the work done, not only on the models, but allso by Stephen on his updated list keeping track of all the beautiful builds.

My Albatros DV arrives later today - but I hardly dare begin building it seeing the level that are preformed here being totally "green" on this subject - WWI airplans" I will and have already gotten a huge amount of inspiration - thanks!
